1. Memory Bags
Mrs. Moir’s class read a book called Shi Shi Etko, by Nicola Campbell. This book tells the story of a little girl that is getting ready to go off to residential school. She creates a memory bag to take with her to help her remember her home. The class then made their own memory bags. It was an amazing, powerful experience to see what the children put together in their memory bags to symbolize their homes and cultures.

2. Lacrosse in PE
This week Mrs. Forbes and Mrs. Erickson arranged for Langley Thunder Lacrosse to come and introduce the sport to the kids in gym. Kids were able to learn about the game of lacrosse and practice some lacrosse skills. A great way for kids to experience a new sport and have an opportunity to see if it might be something they want to explore further.

3. Stuffie Sleepover
Ms. Keeley’s class brought their stuffies to school for a sleepover. Yesterday the kids wrote them letters describing the classroom rules…..well apparently the stuffies disregarded the rules during their sleepover as it was quite a mess this morning! The kids had to clean up after their stuffies and then write them another letter explaining what they had done wrong. Hopefully they will learn for next time ;O)

4. Port Kells Nursery
A group of our students visited the Port Kells Nursery today and it looks like a winter wonderland!
