1.Remembrance Day Assembly
Thank you to all of the students for showing such respect at the Remembrance Day Assembly. This assembly is so important as it reminds and explains to our younger generations the meaning of this day. A big thank you to Mrs. Driver’s, Mrs. Randa’s, Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. S-K’s, Mrs. Moir’s and Mrs. Cunningham’s classes for contributing to the assembly. A big thank you to Hannah for starting the assembly by singing O Canada.
2. Vancity Tree Decorating
The staff at Vancity were delighted to have Mrs. Cunningham’s class walk over to decorate their Christmas tree with the angels they had decorated. It did not take long as you can imagine with 20 students helping out! Division 10 had help from their buddy class, Mrs. S-K’s class and Ms. Wendell’s in colouring 106 angels!
Mrs. Cunningham’s class have chosen two “angels”, a boy and a girl, aged 7, that they are providing Christmas gifts for. The students are earning money at home by doing extra chores around the house then they will use this money to purchase special gifts for their angels. This is an annual tradition for Mrs. Cunningham – what a lovely way to teach kids the meaning of giving.
3. Loving Yourself
Division 8 has been practicing loving themselves more and showing appreciation to friends in our class.
They choose to leave a note on someone’s desk to cheer them up or to make them feel loved and appreciated. It was awesome and heart warming to see the big smiles when they found their notes on their desks.
4. Snow Globes
Students busy getting in the holiday spirit!
5. Cobbs
Just a reminder to families that the Cobbs Breads at the Willowbrook mall sponsors our school. They give us loaves of bread each week for breakfast club and for making lunches for students who need. If you shop at Cobbs and mention our school, Langley Meadows, they also give back 5% of your purchase to the school! Yeah Cobbs!
