1. Intra Mural Champions
Over the past few months the grade 4’s and 5’s have been playing intra murals in the gym at lunch. The two winning teams were awarded with an amazing medallion which will be displayed in the foyer. The two winning teams were Wolf Pack and Chimichangas!! Congratulations. A big thank you as well to Mrs. Erickson’s dad who carved the medallion for our school, it’s lovely.
2. Hundred Day
This week many of our primary classes celebrated 100 days at school! Some classes dressed up as elderly people while others celebrated with special lunches and activities.
3. Spring is Coming
A special visitor outside of Mrs. Cunningham’s room reminded us that Spring is coming! Yahoo!

4. LEPS – It isn’t Easy Being Green!
5. TWU Nurses
This week the nurses spent time teaching the Grade ones and Kindergartens about their bodies. They discussed who could or could not touch their bodies, what areas of their bodies were private and how to take care of their bodies. All very important information, all presented in a safe and caring way.
6. Spuds in Tubs
Several of our classes are participating in the Agriculture in the Classroom Spuds in Tubs program. Here students were checking out their seed potatoes looking at the sprouts, the eyes and measuring how big their spud was. They recorded what they knew about potatoes and what they hoped to discover through the growing process. Stay tuned for more potatoe news as the spuds grow!
7. Sharing a Story
Jackson did excellent reading as he shared a story with his classmate Braidynce, Mrs. Young and Ms. D. Good job, Jackson!
8. Kicking Back with a Good Book
Mrs. Danford’s class was enjoying reading time this Friday afternoon a little more relaxed than normal!
9. Jump Rope For Heart
We had our kick off assembly this week for JRFH as our school begins to raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The students learned many interesting facts about their hearts and how to keep them healthy. They also learned some of the symptoms and sign of heart attacks and strokes. Mrs. Cunningham organizes this event for our school each year and I am so thankful. As many of you know this event is near to my heart as my mom had emergency open heart surgery and a quadruple bi-pass when she was only 52. It was a very scary time for us as a family and if it wasn’t for the doctors and nurses who took care of her she wouldn’t have made it through. My mom was healthy but unbeknownst to her suffered from genetic heart disease. The Heart and Stroke Foundation has played a big part in our lives for the last ten years and I appreciate all of the funds that our school raises each year for the Foundation. I will send a seperate email with fundraising instructions and I hope all of you are able to participate. Friday, March 13th is our day of skipping! The last day of fundraising will be Thursday, April 2nd.
