Mustang Moments January 20th

January 20, 2017

1.SFU student teachers

The student teachers will have the opportunity to observe and help out in classrooms on Tuesday and Friday mornings. This week they jumped in and were able to help out with various classroom and gym activities.

2. TWU Student Nurses

The TWU student nurses started this week teaching various classrooms about hand washing and proper nutrition. We are so happy to have these experts coming into our building to talk to our kids.

3. Taekwondo

A big thank you to Rahn’s Black Belt Academy for spending Wednesday and Thursday with our school in gym classes teaching the kids self defense. Thank you to Mrs. Erickson for always organizing these awesome experiences for our students.

4. Aboriginal Teachings

We are lucky to have Mr. Piche as our aboriginal support teacher working with our staff and students teaching us various aboriginal teachings. This week Mr. Piche read a story about the lonely Inukshuk to Ms. Wendell’s class which taught the kids about the significance of Inukshuk’s and also about the fact that every person has a purpose and a meaningful gift to share.

Salmon Eggs

Mrs. Tulloch’s and Mrs. Claire’s class have embarked on the journey of raising Salmon. The eggs were delivered and the students have begun to explore what they look like and how to care for them.
