Mustang Moments Jan. 24

January 26, 2014

1. Basketball Games

The kids had their first basketball games of the season this week. They worked hard and had fun!

2. Ski Program with Mr. Everson

Day one of the ski program with Mr. Everson went smoothly. The kids were all excited and ready to go. They were impressed by the giant coach bus that came to pick them up and I think they had fun on the mountain as well!

3. The gift of Books

One of the families in Mrs. Cunningham’s class gave each student a book. What an awesome gift, thank you. It went perfect with pj day.

4. Pajama Day

On Friday the school community rallied around a Langley Meadows family showing them incredible support by wearing pajamas and bringing in a donation. With your generous donations we raised around $750 to give to the “Pajama Project”. The Pajama Project gives a pair of pj’s to grieving moms who have lost a child. We hope that the money raised will enable the project to support moms who need some love. I have included a note from Lori below as she wanted to thank each of you personally. Thank you LMCS for showing how much you care for one another.

” I want to thank Langley Meadows Community school and all the children and families of Langley Meadows for supporting the Pajama Project on Friday. The amount of money raised for this project is unbelievable. I feel very loved and cared for by all of you. The pain of losing a child is more than a heart can take. Your heart never heals and is forever broken. The pain is more than you thought your body could ever feel. There is nothing I can say or do that will ever bring my son back. I have to learn how to live this life without his hugs, his I love you’s, hearing his voice or seeing him grow into a young man. Some days I choke on the word forever. Forever is to long to not see him again. The Pajama Project helps me think his life had a purpose and that I can help other moms, even just for a moment to feel she is not alone. There are days I wake up and think I just can’t do this, how do I possible get out of bed and go on without my baby. I put on my pair of pajamas I was given by the Pajama project and feel the love and support of other moms who have lost a child. I feel them hugging me and saying you are not alone on this journey of grief and we love you and are here for you. For that moment I know I am not alone and If they can get thru this day so can I. We can do this together, One Step at a Time. I wish I could thank each one of you myself but since I can’t and I do not have all the families on Facebook I would like each family from Langley Meadows to copy and paste this and maybe through everyone’s connections they will be able to read my thank you and know how much our family appreciates all your support. Hugs to you all and remember life can change in a second. Tell the ones you love how much they mean to you and hug them close. We are never promised tomorrow so make today count.Love and help one another. Thank you everyone.”

Much Love Steve, Lori, Hayden and Lily. Also our angel Garrett.

I thank you again for supporting The Pajama Project.
