3. Ready Set Learn
This week we had the second RSL session at our school. Children aged 3-5 are invited to participate with their caregivers in an afternoon of fun activities. This weeks session was all about numbers. 4. Chinese New Year
Gung hay fat choy!
Today classrooms celebrated and learned about the Chinese New Year. Teachers shared traditions with students so they had an understanding of this special celebration. While I was visiting Mrs. B-G’s class I learned that often, the evening preceding Chinese New Year’s Day families gather for a special dinner. It is also traditional for families to thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for good incoming luck. Other activities include lighting firecrackers and giving money in red paper envelopes. Today students shared oranges, rice and exchanged red envelopes.
5. Trinity Western University Nurses
This week one of the lessons the nurses did was about respecting yourself and healthy self esteem. Very important lessons for everyone to learn.
