LMCS Family Bingo Night

A fun filled night organized by the LMCA, hosted by the crazy bingo ladies (Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Yachuk!). In addition to fun bingo, we were so lucky to have one of our parents, Stephen Pulham, who works for the Royal Bank of Canada bring a team of volunteers to come and help out at this evening Bingo event. RBC has a program called the Team RBC Grant. This program provides the charity with a $1000 donation when a team of 3 RBC staff and 3 non-RBC staff participate in a volunteer activity. So not only did they come and help out for the evening, they gave the school $1000 as well. Mr. Pulham has organized another four events over the next two months where $1000 will be donated to our school each time! An incredible gift for LMCS.

Ruben’s Shoes

Many children in different countries are not able to attend school as they do not have shoes due to poverty. However the only way to break the poverty cycle is to send kids to school to gain an education. I know that at my house I have shoes that I no longer wear that could easily help someone else so we hope that you do too!

For the next two weeks. we will have a bin in the foyer where you can donate all kinds of shoes in slightly used condition. Kids and adult shoes are welcomed! The only thing we do not want are snow boots! Please tie the shoe laces together or wrap an elastic band around the pair so that sets stay together and then drop them in the bin. Easy!

Garden Preparation

A huge thank you to Ms. Moir and Mrs. Pinkerton along with Division 6 for getting the school garden ready for planting. They were troopers digging away getting the soil all turned and ready to go!

Reading Link Celebration

The kids who participated in the Reading Link Challenge this year celebrated with an ice cream party! Yum!

Dandelion Art

Div. 16 took art outside! After brainstorming objects that were yellow, students used dandelion pollen to colour their yellow creations while enjoying the sunny afternoon outside.

Municipal Awareness

Students participated in Municipal Awareness Day where they learned about elections, participated in a council meeting, designed their own park and checked out some equipment used to keep the Township of Langley looking good!

Financial Literacy

Mrs. McArthur’s class was busy investigating the 3 S’s of money. Save, Spend and Share. It’s never to early to start talking about money.
