Skating

Division 4, 5 and 6 spent the morning skating this week. A very fun way to get exercise with friends.

Heart Dissection

Division 3 had a “heartful” experience this week! They first listened to a presentation given by Mrs. Foo, a former LMCS teacher. Following this, they had an opportunity to touch and examine the cow heart and lungs!

Reading Link Challenge

Reading Link Challenge (RLC) is an award-winning public library/school partnership program that promotes the “sport of reading.” Librarians from FVRL work with school librarians and teachers to recruit teams of six students in grades 4 and 5. The program is run as a series of quiz/trivia challenges with questions based on six preselected books. All teams participate in one or more levels of challenge, with the winning teams advancing to higher levels of competition within the community. Our students have been practicing so hard to get ready for the big event. Shyanne, Lily, Paige, Kari, Alyssa, Lily, Elliot, Jacob, Ella, Reid, Sienna, Madison, Cole and Kaden. Way to go!

Jump Rope For Heart

A huge thank you to Dr. Sheppard from the University of the Fraser Valley and her students for volunteering their time today to help encourage all of our students while they jumped. Thank you to the parents who came out to jump with their kids and a giant round of applause for Mrs. Erickson for organizing this event. Thank you for all of your fundraising efforts.

Salmon Writing

Div. 6 was busy sharing their salmon stories with each other this week. All term they have been learning about salmon and their ecosystems. They studied each stage of their lives and then wrote stories that tell about their journey to the ocean. They were fantastic!!

Langley Picture Book of the Year

The primary classes have been busy reading 10 short listed picture books to help determine Langley’s Picture Book of the Year.

After tallying the votes at our school Not Quite Narwhal by Jessie Sima has won Meadow’s top vote for this year. We can’t wait to see which book wins for the whole district.
