Dave Orchard
We had a wonderful time being “Future Farmer’s” at Dave’s Orchard. The local farm welcomed our three grade 1 classes for the morning along with many parent volunteers. We picked produce and were able to see how it grew on the farm. The cows paid us a visit and we even got to pick our own rare “Winter Banana” apple. The tree is the only one in BC! It was a beautiful sunny day and we had so much fun exploring with our friends.
Mrs. Boyce’s class made soup with the vegetables from their trip to Dave’s Orchard! Yum!
Directed Drawing
Mrs. Schlacht’s class were busy using technology to help with a directed drawing lesson. They chose a character and then with the help of YouTube were able to start and stop as they need to get their drawing just right.
Growing Patterns
Students wrote a math pattern on a piece of paper, crumbled it up and threw it across the room! They then picked up a math snowball from a classmate and built that pattern using blocks. A fun and engaging way to practice math skills!
Championship Cross Country Race
Sp proud of our Langley Meadows Cross Country Team! Lucas, Jovin, Luke, Cole A, Jackson, Cole S, Sam, Emma, Alayna, Landen, Jayden and Juliana, Ravi, Lily D, Jenna, Valerie, Hailey, Katie. The students practiced hard to improve their race times each week. Congrats to Hailey, Katie, Jayden, Landen, Jovin, Cole, Alayna, Emma who were invited to a championship race this week on Thursday. Very proud that they represented our school.
Picture Day and Fun Lunch
A big thank you to the moms who came to help with picture day. Primping students and making sure the kids didn’t have spaghetti sauce on their face before their picture! Another big woohoo to the parents that also came to organize pizza day delivers to each classroom. Yum, fun lunch!
Cardboard Creations
For the past few weeks Divisions 1 and 3, with help from the Learning Commons, have been working on cardboard creations. The students were inspired by Caine’s Arcade and their ideas took off. Today students who were finished their projects brought them in for a day of play. It was a great success, with fun had by all.
