1.Heritage Fair

For 23 years, the Heritage Fair program in Canada has been challenging students to celebrate Canada’s heritage through the creation of history projects. This year students in grade 5 at LMCS took part for the first time. It was a great learning experience for all, staff included! The kids presented outstanding projects and it was great to see them answering questions about their research to the judges from the heritage society. A big thank you to Mrs. Choi, Mrs. Claire and Mr. Arthur’s for taking this event on this year. A huge thank you also to Mrs. Cowland, a district employee who was an amazing mentor to us here at the school.

2. Reading Link Challenge

The school team, the Book Worms, represented LMCS this week during the Fraser Valley Library Challenge for the reading link competition. There were thirteen teams from various elementary schools and the kids did an awesome job answering questions about 6 different books. So proud of all of their efforts!

3. International Day of Pink

Wednesday was a provincial day of celebrating inclusiveness and diversity. Our students made a kindness tree with each leaf holding a message of love and friendship. So proud to be a part of our school. A big thank you to Ms. D for spearheading this special art project. In this picture division 6 is spreading the message of showing and respecting everyone’s true colors.

4. Beading

Division 6 was learning how to bead and the history behind beading. The end product was stunning :O)
