Mustang Moments December 18th

December 18, 2015

1. Santa’s breakfast

A huge thank you to the LMCA and especially Miriam and Matt for organizing this event year after year. We are so lucky as a school community to have so many people taking care of our kids. It was a great day filled with pancakes and bacon, crafts and cookie decorating and Santa of course paid a visit.

2. Ms. Samodien’s class was busy building Christmas scenes with plasticine.

3. Gingerbread Houses

The Grade Two classes built gingerbread houses this week! Icing and candy galore!

4. Breakfast Club Appreciation

Thank you to Mrs. Robinson for organizing a special breakfast, appreciating all of the helpers who make breakfast club happen each day.

5. A Special Kindergarten Lunch

Mrs. Richardson’s class had a chance this week to sit together and share a special lunch.

6. Winter Scenes

Mrs. Moir’s class was hard at work creating winter snow scenes when the weather decided to coordinate with the art lesson and it snowed outside!

7. Special Guest

Kiko’s dad Brandon gave us a special private concert as he sang the blues and told stories to Mrs. Gray’s class. I could have sat and listened to him all afternoon, so awesome! Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

8. Pajama/Movie Day

It is the best day ever when you get to wear your pajama’s to work or school! There was lots happening around the school, pancake breakfasts, gift giving, class celebrations, movies and more! All of the funds raised will go to support the “Pajama Project.”

9. Coins For Kids/Santa’s Store

A HUGE thank you for all of your support during Coins for Kids week and the Santa’s Store. The school raised over $2,400.00! This money is used to support LMCS families during the Christmas season and throughout the year. It is such a joy to be part of a community that takes care of each other. Thank you for brightening the holiday for many kids :O) A big thank you to Mrs. Moir, Ms. Grondahl and Mrs. Pinkerton who spearheaded these two events.

As you know I will not be here in January as I am taking parental leave to be home with my boys. I will miss Langley Meadows immensely as I love being here each day working with you, your children and the amazing staff. I will pop in and visit and look forward to being back in September to start a new school year with you.

I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas filled with laughter, family and good friends. Take time to relax and rejuvenate in amongst the craziness of shopping, wrapping, baking, etc!
