Mustang Moments Oct. 31

November 1, 2014

1. Buddy Halloween Art Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Gray’s classes spent some time this week creating Halloween art. Some made Scary Halloween Houses and the others made Spider Hats! Fun had by all!

2.  A Gift From Last Year

As part of the grade two Science study on plants, last year Mrs. S-K’s class planted vegetables, fruits and potatoes in Langley Meadows’ Community Garden. This week Mrs. S-K’s current grade two class harvested potatoes, parsley, zucchini, beans, green onion and red onion from the garden.  The children helped with the harvesting, cleaning, and washing of produce and then also helped prepare Monster Mash on Halloween Day.  Yum!

3. Halloween Art Here is some Halloween art from Aisha, Ava, Ben, Brooklyn, Justin, Odessa and Sophie from Division 9.

4. Pumpkin Bowling After a morning of Carnival games in the gym the fun continued in Mrs. Cunningham’s class as the students played pumpkin bowling!

5. Halloween Carnival This is a LMCS tradition usually organized by our grade 7 students. This year however as we switched to a K-5 we needed a new plan of attack! This year the event was sponsored and organized by the school PAC and supported by loads of mom, dads, grandmas, friends, etc! There were so many volunteers it was outstanding. The day was a huge success, the kids had tremendous fun and everyone was exhausted by the end of the day! I cannot thank all of the parent volunteers enough who made this day happen for the kids. An additional huge thank you to Corine, the PAC president, who was the main drive behind this events success.
