1. Animal Attack
Mr. Nelson’s class was learning about the importance of animals to the aboriginal people. The students learned about how the animals were used, which kinds of animals we would find here in our area, and how to be respectful to the animals. Here they were looking at a model of a Grizzly bear jaw!
2. Crazy Hair Day
Last week the kids had Crazy Hair day and it was quite the sight!
3. The Historic Fort Site
Mrs. Cunningham’s class took a visit to the Fort and learned about old times and how things were done.
4. Kilometer Club
Each year Langley Meadows students take to the track to run a half or full marathon. For three weeks at recess and lunch the students can run laps if they choose and collect popsicle sticks which are then recorded in their classrooms and the kids aim to reach a marathon! I am always amazed at home many laps they can run! Students who run a full marathon will earn a Langley Meadows Kilometer club t-shirt!
5. Kindergarten Orientation
This week we welcomed our brand new Kindergarten students for next year. They came to visit the school with their families and went to the Kindergarten classes all by themselves for the very first time and participated in different activities! How precious they all were. We are looking forward to having them join the Langley Meadows Family next September.
6. Releasing the Salmon
Mrs. Cunningham’s and Mrs. S-K’s classes have been raising salmon since January and the time finally came last week to release them back into the streams.
7. Langley Environmental Partners Society
I think that LEPS lives at Langley Meadows! They do so much here at our school with our students teaching them about the environment and how we can take care of it. We are so lucky to have them be part of the students learning.
